Montana State University (MSU) was designated a university with very high research activity by the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research’s Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. MSU is one of 130 universities nationwide – out of 4,338 U.S. higher education institutions – to be included in this category. And of those, MSU and the University of California at Santa Cruz are the only two universities whose Carnegie enrollment profile is “very high undergraduate.”
