On Wednesday, Aug. 7, our SMART FIRES Education and Outreach team will host an educational workshop for K-12 teachers as part of the STEM Summer Institute conference on the MSU campus. The workshop is from 8:30 – 9:15 in Norm Asbjornson Hall and will be hosted by education staff from MSU Science Math Resource Center and spectrUM Discovery Area.
The workshop will include an overview of SMART FIRES research as well as some of the educational and outreach opportunities available for teachers. We will showcase a few short activities that teachers can do in their classrooms; discuss citizen science possibilities; and request information from teachers on what is most useful to them going forward.
