Technology-Based Economic Development through Tech ED
Technology-based economic development (TBED) provides regional competitive advantages by providing support and exprtise to the technology business sector. Recently, the Montana Technology Innovation Partnership (MTIP), funded by an EPSCoR program through the MSU Technology Transfer Office, created a webinar series called Tech ED, which guided participants through an economic development framework for moving innovation from concept to market. Participants were trained in TBED subjects like technology commercialization, intellectual property, strategic alliances, and SBIR/STTR.
Climate Change in My Backyard (CLiMB)
MtEPSCoR has created the first of a series of classroom science modules that focus on climate science in Montana and the Rocky Mountain West. This program, called Climate Change in My Backyard (CLiMB), will incorporate a variety of strategies for sustained engagement with K-12 students, such as lesson plans and activities for teachers, and hands-on experiments led by MUS students and faculty. Each year will incorporate a geographic theme: Year 1, Operation Everest, will focus on the relationship between climate change in the Himalayas and climate change in Montana.
Graduate and Undergraduate Opportunities
Opportunities for EPSCoR support to undergraduate and graduate students are available through the Institute on Ecosystems.
