Current Awards

Montana NSF EPSCoR is currently funded by two NSF awards:

The $20 M 2011-2016 Track I award is the primary mechanism for building research infrastructure in the state. This award funds new faculty hires, graduate students, undergraduate research, workforce development programs, and outreach throughout Montana. The theme of this award is climate change across multiple scales and temporal zones.

The Montana University System Institute on Ecosystems is the hub of research activities around this theme.

The $3M 2009-2013 Track II award is a Cyberinfrastructure award that is a partnership with Kentucky EPSCoR. This award, known as VOIES, established networks and sensors and has visualization data.

These awards, which were competitively awarded to Montana from the National Science Foundation, are built around research themes with regional significance and national prominence.
